Was there anything that could have been done before 9-11 to protect or warn the U.S.

If attacking Iraq was wrong, what would you suggest ?

Why do you think Bush is evil or on par with other ruthless leaders ? What would be his motives ? (would like to hear other stuff besides the same ole oil theory --unless something new on that front)

Do you think he just wanted to get Saddam ...something daddy Bush decided not to do.

-- I don't think he is evil. Just senselessly ideological and narrow-thinking. Doesn't consider broad implicatons of actions and is politcally driven more than anything else. Also highly influenced by pol advisors. Not terribly intellectually curious and in general just not up for the job, though in part he realizes this but it leads to overeliance on subordinates with agendas.

-- He, and others, without question. They've wanted to get him for years and then jumped at whatever evidence they could find or trump to make the case They worked backwards, decding first to go to war and second on how to make the case. If one argument failed, then move on to another.

The weakness of crap security in US domestic airlines was known about for years.

I think it was during Clintons era that a US Gov. report came out on it. International flights were ok, it was your domestic flights that had poor security/high risk.

Like most Gov. reports, it was filed away and forgotten about.

9/11 initiated a re-apraissal, to put it mildly.

You should have just assasinated Saddam, and left the Baath heirarchy in place.
His replacement could co-operate, or suffer the same fate.
Simple, efficient, effective.

I would think that $1 billion might be the cost.

Total chump change in comparison to what you guys are paying now....
